This policy explains what Snooker Self-Trainer collects, why, and what choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
1. Summary
- Snooker Self-Trainer has no accounts and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- Everything you record — drills, exams, games, training plans, notes — is stored on your device only. It is not uploaded to us and we cannot read it.
- We collect anonymous usage analytics and crash reports through Google Firebase, so we can see which parts of the app are used and what is broken.
- We do not sell or share your data, and there is no advertising in the app.
2. Who we are

3. Data stored on your device
The app keeps a local database and a local preferences store on your device. This includes:

This data never leaves your device through the app. We have no server that holds it and no way to retrieve it.
Backups. On Android, the app permits the operating system's standard app backup. If you have device backup enabled, your local app data may be copied to your own Google account. On iOS, app data may be included in your iCloud or local device backups. Those backups are governed by Apple's and Google's privacy policies, not this one.
Deleting it. Uninstalling the app removes the local database. You can also delete individual plans, sessions and records inside the app at any time.
4. Analytics we collect
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate. Events are tied to a Firebase-generated app instance identifier, not to you personally.
We log events such as:

- Tutorial checklist progress: viewed, task completed, dismissed
- Drills: started, finished, abandoned
- Exams: started, finished
- Games: recorded
- Training plans: created, deleted
- Training sessions: started, finished, abandoned
- Research survey prompt: shown, clicked, dismissed
Events carry descriptive parameters — for example drill name, difficulty, focus area, duration in seconds, sets completed, frames played, highest break, safety success rate, and whether a note exists.
We also set a small number of durable user properties, such as skill level, whether a training plan exists, and how many drills have been completed.
Two things we deliberately do not send: the contents of your notes (we record only a true/false flag that a note was written), and any free text you type.
Firebase Analytics also automatically collects standard technical information, including approximate location derived from IP address (country/region level), device model, operating system version, app version, and language.
5. Crash reporting
We use Firebase Crashlytics (including its native crash handler) to receive crash and stability reports. A crash report contains a stack trace, device model, OS version, app version, and the state of the app at the moment of the crash. We use these reports only to find and fix defects.
6. The research survey
The app may occasionally show a card inviting you to take a short product
research survey. Tapping it opens an external survey hosted at
harness-survey.vercel.app in your browser.
Taking part is entirely optional, and dismissing the card is a normal, supported choice. Anything you write in the survey is submitted to that external service and is governed by its own terms, not by this policy. We record only that the prompt was shown, clicked or dismissed.
7. Children
Snooker Self-Trainer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
9. How long we keep data
Local data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data are retained according to our Firebase project's retention settings and are deleted automatically when that period expires.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing.
Because we hold no account and no identifiable record of you, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device: your training data is yours to view and delete in the app. For analytics and crash data, contact us at the address in Section 2 and we will act on your request as far as the app instance identifier allows us to identify the relevant records.
You can also stop analytics and crash collection entirely by uninstalling the app, and you can control ad-related identifiers through your device's system settings.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the app's features or data practices change, and we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted in the change log below. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
